Web Design Pricing Calculator: How Much to Charge for a Website
What this tells you
Price a website from the hours it really takes, not the number of pages alone. Add the per-page build time, the fixed time for discovery, design, setup and launch, and the revision rounds, multiply by your hourly rate, add themes, plugins and stock, then add a margin. Revisions and setup are what most web designers forget, and they are often a third of the job.

The formula
hours = pages × hours per page + setup hours + revision rounds × hours per round · cost = hours × hourly rate + third-party costs · price = cost ÷ (1 − margin)
How to read the result
- If the price per page looks high next to template shops, check the setup hours. Discovery, content wrangling and launch take the same time on a 5-page site as on a 15-page one.
- Revision rounds are where web projects lose money. Put the number of rounds in your proposal and charge extra past it.
- Third-party costs recur. If the client keeps a paid theme, plugins or hosting, bill them yearly or hand the accounts over at launch.
- Use the freelance rate calculator first if you do not know your hourly rate.
