The formula

Reddit's own subreddit search for your words · public, non-NSFW results only · sorted by members

How to read the result

  • The biggest match is rarely the best one. Smaller, focused subreddits are where people ask specific questions and read every reply.
  • Search for the problem your customer has, not your product category. "bookkeeping" finds owners; "accounting software" finds vendors.
  • Check a subreddit's rules before posting. Most business subreddits remove self-promotion and reward helpful answers.

Frequently asked questions

Search for the topic here or in Reddit's community search, then sort by members and open the top few. Read their rules and recent posts to see whether people ask questions you can answer.

Search for specific words your audience uses: a job title, a tool they use, or a problem they have. Niche subreddits rarely show up for broad category words.

Private, banned, quarantined and NSFW subreddits are left out. Results are cached for a day, so a brand-new subreddit can take a day to appear.
