GummySearch shut down: what happened and what to use now
Leadhoot teamUpdated October 27, 20265 min read
GummySearch stopped taking new customers in November 2025 and closes for good on 1 December 2026. Here is what replaces each thing it did.
GummySearch shut down because it could not reach a commercial data agreement with Reddit. New sign-ups and upgrades ended on 30 November 2025, existing subscribers keep access until their billing period ends, and the service closes entirely on 1 December 2026. The best replacement depends on what you used it for: Leadhoot for buyer-intent alerts, Syften or F5Bot for keyword monitoring, and free subreddit tools for audience research.
What happened
On 6 November 2025 GummySearch's founder announced the product could not secure a commercial license for Reddit's data API, which Reddit requires for paid products. The service was wound down in stages rather than switched off, so existing customers could finish their subscriptions.

- Whether the tool scores posts for intent or just matches keywords. Keyword matches get noisy fast in busy subreddits.
- Whether it posts or sends DMs for you. Automated replies from shared accounts are what Reddit bans.
- How many subreddits or keywords each plan covers, compared with how many your buyers actually use.
Export your data before 1 December 2026
If you still have access, export your saved audiences, subreddit lists and saved conversations now. Your subreddit list is the part worth keeping: paste it into whichever tool you move to.
